Wisdom Loop

Legal

Terms of Service

Effective: May 30, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Wisdom Loop (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to all of these terms, you may not access or use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the operator of Wisdom Loop governing your use of the Service.

2. Description of Service

Wisdom Loop is a personal reading companion that helps you organize active reads, record progress across formats (print, e-book, audiobook), capture takeaways, and stay oriented across the books you care about. The Service is designed as a private, non-social environment — there is no public profile, no social feed, and no requirement to share what you read.

Wisdom Loop is under active development. Features, behavior, performance, and availability may change without notice. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time. There is no promise of a particular roadmap or timeline beyond what we communicate on the product itself or these pages.

The Service does not replace professional advice of any kind. It is a tool for personal organization and reflection, not a diagnostic, therapeutic, or educational device.

3. User Accounts and Registration

To use Wisdom Loop, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and a secure password. You may also register using Google OAuth, in which case we receive your name and email from Google solely for authentication.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. You represent that all information you provide during registration is accurate and complete.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Wisdom Loop only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You shall not:

  • Use the Service to transmit harmful, fraudulent, or infringing content;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its related systems;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service;
  • Use automated means to access the Service without prior written permission;
  • Place an unreasonable load on our systems;
  • Attempt to breach the security of other accounts.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations or risk to the Service or other users.

5. User Content and Data

Content you enter — such as book titles, reading progress, notes, takeaways, and related metadata — is yours. You retain ownership of all data, text, and other content you submit to Wisdom Loop. By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to host, process, back up, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you, in line with our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for ensuring that your content does not violate any applicable laws or third-party rights. We do not sell your content to third parties.

6. Privacy

Your use of Wisdom Loop is governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Third-Party Services

Wisdom Loop integrates with optional third-party services to enhance its functionality:

  • Google OAuth — used for optional sign-in; we receive only your name and email for authentication.
  • Google Books API — used to look up book metadata (title, author, cover art) when you add a book. No personal data is sent to Google in these lookups.
  • Resend — used for transactional email delivery (account notifications, changelog updates).

We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to the terms and conditions of those services.

8. Subscription and Billing

The Service is currently free to use. Development is supported in part by voluntary contributions. If you would like to support the work, you may do so via Buy Me a Coffee (Factor317). Donations are gifts, not purchases of services, support SLAs, or equity; they do not change these Terms or create a contractual obligation beyond what is stated here.

Our intent is to build a sustainable product, which may include paid offerings over time. Regardless of how the business evolves, we intend to maintain a free way to use Wisdom Loop. At minimum, we aim for a free tier that preserves meaningful access to your own data — for example, read-only access to export or review what you have stored — so you are not held hostage by pricing changes. Specific entitlements may evolve; we will be transparent as plans solidify. Any future subscription plans, billing terms, and payment processing will be described at the time they are introduced, with at least 30 days advance notice of material pricing changes.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of Wisdom Loop — including but not limited to the user interface, software, design, text, graphics, logos, and documentation — are owned by the operator of Wisdom Loop and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of any part of the Service unless expressly permitted by these Terms.

10. Feedback

We welcome feedback, bug reports, and ideas. If you share suggestions, you grant us permission to use them to improve the Service without obligation to compensate you. We take thoughtful input seriously and aim to respond when we can, especially when requests are clear and constructive — though we cannot commit to every feature or fix.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR FREE OF ERRORS.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE AND OUR TEAM WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (TYPICALLY ZERO WHILE THE SERVICE IS FREE) OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (USD $50), EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Wisdom Loop and its operators, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may terminate your account through the account settings within the application. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, for operational, legal, or security reasons. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including but not limited to intellectual property, indemnification, and limitation of liability — will survive termination.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this document. We will notify you of material changes through in-app notice and, where practical, email notification at least 14 calendar days before the effective date, giving you adequate time to review the changes before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. Contact

If you have any questions about these Terms, please reach out through the Help area, or contact us at the support channels available within the application.
